Nicky(Nicola)Gore is at home with her parents when her father suddenly goes mad and destroys the television for no apparent reason. Then, the Gore family and everyone around them turn on machines.
Separated from her parents after the strange force grips her momentarily, Nicky joins up with a band of Sikhs and helps them to live in peace with the residents of a country village. She leaves them but faces more trouble when a sinister man, Davy Gordon accuses her of being a witch. With the help of a local young man, Jonathan, she escapes and the two of them journey to the source of the changes. In a cavern, Nicky finds a living stone called the Necromancer, which is responsible for all that has occurred. Joining telepathically with it, she convinces to change the world back to the way it was.
